Licencing Your Work: IMPORTANT!

Licencing your work is important to help avoid unauthorized redistribution and modifications to your work. It sets out in advance the conditions for purchase, downloading and use of your works.

Until now licencing was only available for paid resources, but even if you offer your work for free, it should still have a licence.

Today, I have made changes to the new resource/resource edit pages so that no matter if your work is offered free, or sold, there is a text input field for a licence.

I have also added a new cart feature, so that users can add multiple files from different members, then do one checkout for each member. This means if someone buys multiple items from you, there will only be one transaction fee = WINNING! 😀

For the cart system to work, it requires members to have a global licence added in the Configuration page on your Dashboard.

For new users or members who had not added a global licence yet, a fairly strict template one has been added which covers all the main aspects. If you want you can leave this as it is, but I urge you to check it fits your requirements and replace it with your own custom licence as necessary.

When adding new resources, the default licence from your config page will be automatically populated into the licence field. Or if you prefer to create custom licences per file, add it at the time of adding the resource and it will use that one instead. If you previously added a custom licence on a file and want to revert, edit the resource and delete everything in the licence field and it will revert to your default licence.

If you have any questions about this or issues, please comment below.

Common licences: MIT Licence | GNU Licence
